"Good News" from Auburn

Families from Auburn, Cayuga County and the surrounding area are invited to enjoy an annual New Year’s Celebration — an evening gala rich in art, music and dance. The event is a non-alcoholic, family oriented community celebration to usher in the New Year. The event focuses on visual and performing arts activities for children and adults of all ages. It revives the ancient traditions of marking the passage of time with art, ritual and festivity.

The celebration includes puppetry, music, dance, a drum circle, and arts and crafts and all the activities are free for all. Hours are 7PM – Midnight. Volunteers assist children in a range of arts and craft projects. Cookies and hot beverages are provided. Many local businesses provide donations of food and money. Additional sponsors include the City of Auburn, Cayuga County Stop DWI, and the Stardust Foundation. There are performances with music, dance and group participation. A drum circle and fireworks display round out the evening.

The event is enthusiastically received by all ages. It has grown in scope and scale each year and is anticipated as an event not to be missed! For more information please contact the Cayuga County Arts Council at (315) 252-0950 or via e-mail: sheligraney@yahoo.com.
