Restore NY Communities Grant Goes to Bartolotta
Source: The Citizen, Auburn, NY

The Restore NY Communities Initiative Municipal Grant Program announced the approval of a $1.8 million grant for rehabilitating the Wegman Piano building. In September, Auburn approved Matteo Bartolotta's proposal to transform the old piano factory into condos and retail space.

The Sicily native agreed to front $180,000 to match the state money, but needed council's support to apply for the grant. Bartolotta owns and operates Bartolotta Furniture on State Street in Auburn.

Operation Auburn is grateful for citizens like Matteo Bartolotta who demonstrate enthusiasm and compassion for improving Auburn. What a great way to attract future community members and yet another example of how real, smart and easy life is in Auburn!
