Founder’s Day Committee Looking for Artist Vendors
Plans are taking shape nicely for the third annual City of Auburn Founder’s Day event. This year’s theme, “History on Wheels,” will bring hundreds of antique cars, motorcycles and trucks downtown, plus the fun offerings of the traditional street festival. Artists working in various media are encouraged to participate in this event, and set-up a booth to showcase and sell their artwork and wares. Categories include painting, sculpture, drawing, pastel, photography, prints, clay, wood, glass, metal, fiber, jewelry, furniture and more.
Vendor application forms are available at the Downtown BID Office, 128 Genesee Street. Applications are being accepted through July 15th and the fee is $35. Booth spaces are approximately 12’ wide x 12’ deep, available to individual artists, team artists and guilds. All exhibitors need to bring their own display units, tables, chairs, tents, panels, covers, etc. A minimum of 12 pieces must be displayed per booth, and electricity is not available.
Founder’s Day is happening downtown, Saturday August 13th, from 11AM – 5PM the day before the annual Great Race at Emerson Park. The Founder’s Day car show is hosted by the Finger Lakes Region Antique Car Club, which is in its 41st year. Other regional car clubs have also been invited to participate. There will be ongoing musical entertainment, memorabilia, food and craft vendors and various free family activities all afternoon on Genesee Street. Historic cars will also be displayed at historic site locations and park settings in the downtown area.
