Rebranding of Operation Auburn & Facebook Page for the City of Auburn
First, a big thank you to everyone that spent a few minutes to take our survey. We received very interesting feedback, and were surprised to find that the second highest percentage wanted to keep the name Operation Auburn the same! Yet, in the end changing the name to Positively Auburn slightly ruled out. Readers spoke, and we listened, and the name will be changed moving forward. Coburn Design is now in the process of redesigning the website, and creating an added presence on Facebook.
We also appreciated the additional comments regarding content, and will work to incorporate these ideas. Thoughts ranged from covering more upcoming events, adding additional links to community groups and organizations, and featuring Auburn’s unique fun places and local business/industry and job opportunities.
We also read requests for more information on Musical Theater Festival, our recent Census results, the Owasco Trail Walk, and goals accomplished from the City’s Comprehensive Plan.
One comment regarded creating a network of caring residents, some of which have recently returned to Auburn after living and working elsewhere that want to be involved and make a difference. It is City staff’s hope that the Facebook page can help serve this purpose, because it is an important one. We all know, engaged caring people get things done, but they need a forum for communication!
If readers would like to share their scenic photos or quotes about Auburn, to be incorporated on the newly designed website, please send them to Project Manager Jesse Kline via e-mail at: jessekline31@msn.com.
