"Good News" from Auburn

In its 19th year, this is one of the largest used book sales in Central New York. The Book Bonanza is held annually, the second Saturday and Sunday in July. This event is attended by thousands of people from all over the area, with proceeds benefiting St. Joseph’s School.

The hours for the sale are Saturday, from 9AM – 9PM; and Sunday, from 10AM – 3PM. Book are categorized by their condition and topic. The general book sale is held in the Food Court, in the central area in the Mall. The premium books will be displayed in the space that was occupied by Walden Books, in the west wing of the Mall.

There really is something for everyone with over 60,000 used books, videos and DVDs sorted into 60 categories. For much less than the price of one new book, book lovers can purchase a year’s worth of reading material.

Paperbacks and children’s books are .50, hard covers are $1, and premium books are priced as marked. Bags are provided for shoppers, but you can also bring your own bag. Sunday you can fill a bag with books for $3, and all sales are cash only.

This event would not be possible without the coordination and dedication of Kathy Coye, St. Joseph’s School principal, and the student and parent volunteers and committee members that work tirelessly collecting and sorting books all year long.
