Auburn’s Historic & Cultural Sites Commission hosts “State of the Sites Night”
May 12th • Willard Chapel • 5 – 7PM
In honor of Historic Preservation Month, and National Tourism Week, the Commission is organizing a presentation and reception to share what has been accomplished, both individually and collectively, during their 10 years of working in collaboration.
The theme for this event is the economic impact of the arts. When visitors come to the City for a performance, special event or exhibition, they also shop, dine and stay overnight. Those dollars translate into tax relief for the local residents and profits for those businesses serving the tourism industry.
Guests will be given a program booklet which includes updates on Commission members. This is a nice opportunity for government representatives and Auburn residents to learn more about visitors to Auburn’s sites, and their impact.
The Commission will be presenting City Manager Mark Palesh with an award for the creation of the Founder’s Day event. The presentation will run from 5:30 – 6PM, followed by a wine and cheese reception in the Chapel’s Community Room. This event is free and open to the public.
