Seneca Falls Savings Bank has had a branch presence in Auburn since March 2000. Since then, we have been the number one mortgage originator in Cayuga County for several years running. At the same time, we have been able to build our deposit base to approximately $15 million. We have also expanded our services to include commercial deposits and loans, which have had tremendous success in all our markets.
However, many of our potential personal and commercial customers have asked that we build a drive thru office somewhere in Auburn, as our present location in the Auburn Wal-Mart is not convenient. To that end, we purchased our property on Osborne Street, across from Wegman's, a few years ago in order to meet customer demand. We hope this branch will be operation by this Christmas season, or by early ’08.
We have focused our efforts on building an office for convenience; therefore, the building will be relatively small. The new location will have four drive-thru lanes plus a 24-hour ATM drive-thru lane. New accounts can be opened at the new location as well as at our office in Wal-Mart.
As we move closer to the opening date, the Bank will be offering new on-line products, which include a new high-yield account that provides monthly statements via e-mail - no more paper! As with all of our current on-line products, the new product will also offer free on-line bill pay.
Seneca Falls Savings Bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seneca-Cayuga Bancorp, Inc. and has four banking offices in Auburn, Seneca Falls, Waterloo and Geneva. In addition, the Bank offers insurance through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Royce & Rosenkrans, Inc. The Bank was originally chartered in May 1870 and is the only savings bank in the region.
